In the midst of all your shopping and preparing for family, don’t forget your own holiday spirits. One of the best ways to put some joy into your personal stocking is by heading to a ballet, the theater or a concert. Here’s your list of wonderful treats for this weekend…this time we start with Dance.

Dance:

ballet-shoes-1260799_1280MY CHRISTMAS DREAM with the Brevard Ballet Academy dancers will fill your hearts with delight this Saturday. Under the leadership of artistic diretor Elena Shokhina, this is the Academy’s second annual dance gala. It includes hand painted backdrops, sumptuous costumes, snow machine wizardry. AN AMERICAN IN PARIS is, yes, a stage musical. But more than anything, this is wonderful dance theater. The show runs through Sunday at the Dr. Phillips Center in Orlando. Theater:

A TUNA CHRISTMAS runs through Dec. 24 at Melbourne Civic Theatre. To read a review, click here. In it, Steve Costner and Michael Thompson take on 22 roles in this warm-hearted but decidedly off beat comedy. It performs at various times throughout the holiday season, including Christmas Eve. A CHRISTMAS STORY: The Musical runs through Dec. 18 at the Henegar Center. And wow, is this delighting audiences. Read the bubbling over review of the show by clicking here. A CHRISTMAS CAROL brings the Nebraska Theater Caravan’s a cast of 23 performers, live musicians and sumptuous costumes to the King Center this Saturday. EVERY CHRISTMAS STORY EVER TOLD (AND THEN SOME) runs through the month at Orlando Shakes. It features three professional actors in an exhaustive look at, well, every Christmas story ever told. A RAT PACK CHRISTMAS runs Saturday and Sunday at Surfside Playhouse.
