FRIENDS AND FAMILY exhibit The Members Show at Studios of Cocoa Beach. The annual show runs through January 21, 2019. Member artists are displaying the best of their current work. Phyllis Shipley won the Award of Excellence, judged by sponsor Dan Striby of Sterling Photography in Melbourne. Don Martin won the 1st Merit Award and Nicky Ravine won the 2nd. During the show’s opening reception visitors voted for the People’s Choice Award. Best of Show went to Don Martin, with Linda Z receiving the 1st Merit Award and Tony Sasso won the 2nd Merit Award. The Studios of Cocoa Beach at 165 Minuteman Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach. Hours are Monday and Tuesday 10:30am-3:30 pm, Wednesday through Saturday 10:30am to 8pm and Sunday 11 am to 4 pm. WANDERING SPIRIT: AFRICAN WAX PRINTS runs through Saturday at Florida Institute of Technology’s Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts. It is a tribute to the century-old handmade designs and patterns on textiles that originated in Indonesia and were copied and industrialized by Europeans and exported to West Africa.
