Tickets are disappearing fast for some of your favorite shows — even ones that haven’t opened (Drood and Funny Money). So take a quick read and get those tickets.

Theater:

ON GOLDEN POND opens tonight and runs through Jan. 28 at Surfside Playhouse. While critics and other culturati may eschew the “sentimental,” this play revels in it. Surfside’s production has a really good cast as well led by Steven Wolf a the irascible Norman. The show runs 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. MAMMA MIA! runs through Jan. 28 at Titusville Playhouse. This is a first ever production by a local community theater and it has some good talent in it. For those who don’t know about the show, it’s the jukebox musical phenom with great songs by ABBA. Tickets, if you can get them at this point, start at $23. THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD opens Tuesday, Jan. 16 and runs through Feb. 4 at Riverside Theatre. This raucous “audience chooses the ending” show is done in immersive theater style in Riverside’s capacious black box theater. Rumor has it that the show’s creator, Rupert Holmes, will be at the opening. Tickets, which start at $75, are already flying out the box office, so best call now.
