Got a bitchin’ garage band that’s just aching to break out? If you write original music, are unsigned, have at least one band member who’s in an area school and you’ve got charisma to spare, then read on.

Florida Tech’s radio station, WFIT 89.5 FM is holding a GARAGE BAND CONTEST. The winner not only will receive a recording session at the radio station’s sleek performance studio but also be featured at the station’s Spring Music Festival which will be held April 8.

To enter, make a video, 10 minutes or less, of your band performing an original song of any music genre. Fill out an entry form at www.WFIT.org. You’ll receive a link that will let you upload that video onto YouTube. Deadline to enter is Feb. 28, 2017.

Videos will be judged on musical quality, appeal, originality and, again, that all elusive stage presence known as charisma. The band must have at least one member enrolled in a Brevard high school, college or university.
