Oops. We missed the Rainbow Run today and the Disco Brunch at PC Keats. But it all started at 7:30 a.m. and that time doesn’t really exist for a theater vampire. However, there are plenty of activities to keep you busy all week in your enthusiastic support of Brevard’s LBGT community. And let’s add a “Q” to that as well.
And I must say, I am thrilled and so impressed at how Space Coast Pride has grown. I remember reporting on the lone organization — the Living Room of Brevard — struggling to give voice to disenfranchised people. Then, it was run by two men who were raising children yet not allowed to marry. And just as our society keeps evolving into something loving and accepting, these voices have multiplied. Now we have a loud and proud community reflecting the reality in our larger world.
But the work continues…with style, of course! While the big parade is next Saturday, Sept. 24, this coming week is chock full of events celebrating Pride Week 2016. To get more information, visit SpaceCoastPride.org.
