DREAMGIRLS opens tonight at Cocoa Village Playhouse. One of Brevard’s favorite performers, Felander Stevenson, has taken some time off entertaining aboard cruise ships in order to appear in “Dreamgirls.” The musical is about a 1960s Motown group. THE CASE OF THE CROOKED SMILE an offering of Surfside Player’s “Murder Mystery Dessert Theatre” runs one night only, 7 p.m. Saturday. In addition to desserts, the event includes audience participation with a prize going to the first person who can solve the mystery. $20 per person. Howl at the MoonHOWL AT THE MOON EXPERIENCE is a new program at Riverside Theatre, and it kicks off this weekend. This is a dueling pianos show with audience interaction. In fact, the audience chooses the song list and can even take a spin on the dance floor. It performs 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. today and Saturday. RADICAL ELEMENTS and A VIEW WITHIN: The Collaboration of Two Fiber Artists runs through Aug. 27 at the Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts. “Radical Elements” comes from the Studio Art Quilt Associates and is sponsored in the memory of Judy Roach. “A View Within” is a collaborative project by Paula Chung and Karen Rips, two artists fascinated by the human body.
