Get! Out!

GET OUT! Jan. 29 – 31, 2016

By PAM HARBAUGH

Brevard has a ton of live theater from stem to stern. Most of the shows have already opened; but, opening tonight, there’s one that people have been anticipating — “Cats.” And on Sunday, another one “Smokey Joe’s Cafe,” finishes its run.

OPENING AND CLOSING WEEKENDS

“CATS” the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical opens tonight at the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse and runs through Feb. 14. At least, that’s the plan. Since “Cats” is the fourth longest running Broadway show, no one around here would be surprised if CVP extended the run. Tickets run $16 to $24 (handling fees might be charged as well). Cocoa Village Playhouse is at 300 Brevard Ave., Cocoa. Call 321-636-5050 or visit CocoaVillagePlayhouse.com.

“SMOKEY JOE’S CAFE” finishes its run Sunday at the Henegar Center, so act right now so you won’t miss this great musical revue. Read Brevard Culture’s commentary by clicking here. The Henegar is at 625 E. New Haven Ave., Melbourne. Tickets are $16 to $26. Call 321-723-8698, visit Henegar.org or click onto the ad on the right side of this page.

STILL RUNNING

“HAIRSPRAY” runs through Feb. 7 at Titusville Playhouse, 301 Julia St., Titusville. To read Brevard Culture’s review of this top notch production, click here.
