ANIMATION DOMINATION Symphonic Concert for Kids

Members of the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra

By PAM HARBAUGH

This is a recipe sure to thrill the little ones: Watching film highlights of favorite cartoons on the giant screen while listening to all the theme music performed live by the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra.

Also appealing to parents should be the free admission for children. Yes, parents need to pay, but the orchestra does have expenses, you know.

Space Coast Symphony OrchestraAudiences will see clips and hear music from “Shrek,” “The Simpsons,” “Madagascar,” “How To Train Your Dragon,” “Chicken Run,” “Rise of the Guardians” and “The Croods.”

Also on hand will be the Space Coast Symphony Chorus in appropriately nutty performances laced with kazoos and “vocal calisthenics.” And, conductor Aaron Collins will also invite some little ones to the stage to help him conduct the orchestra.

“Animation Domination” begins 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug., 22, at the Scott Center for the Performing Arts, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, 5625 Holy Trinity Drive, Melbourne (Suntree area). Tickets are free to children 18 and younger and students. General admission tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Call 855-252-7276 or visit www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org.
