YUCK IT UP at Riverside’s COMEDY ZONE

By PAM HARBAUGH

So I’m writing this again, hoping to convince you what a great stand-up comedy experience Riverside Theatre has for you.

It’s called the COMEDY ZONE. Riverside has been running this program for years, bringing in stand up comics on the circuit, so to speak. You get there a little early, enjoy a picnic on the porch, listen to some cool live music performed on a nearby stage (you’re still outdoors). Have a little beer or wine…

Then, when it’s time for the show, you head into Riverside’s black box theater which gets turned into a great fun comedy venue.

The show lasts about an hour. You can get drinks served at your table and even order from a bar menu. You laugh like crazy. Make new friends. And feel like you’ve been transported to some other latitude for a while.

But then you have to leave because the next show’s getting ready to start.

These shows frequently get sold out. Tickets are very reasonable, starting at $16 general. It pops to $18 a ticket if you want reserved seating. Then there’s always the swanky and private VIP BALCONY BOOTH which costs $36 a person but also gets you sodas, water, beer, wine, snack and dessert.

This weekend, the Comedy Zone presents comedians KIER and CARMEN VALLONE (“Last Comic Standing”) at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 6 and 7. Riverside Theatre is at 3250 Riverside Drive, Vero Beach. Call 772-231-6990 or click onto the ad on the right side of this page.
