Get! Out!

GET OUT! May 13 to 15

By PAM HARBAUGH

Titusville Playhouse opens its production of one of my very favorite musicals opens tonight — THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. I’ll be seeing it and filing a review this weekend, BTW. Another one of my faves, IN THE HEIGHTS, finishes its run this weekend at Cocoa Village Playhouse. So here’s your game plan: Make plans now for CVP then for TPI and you’ll be thoroughly riding the hot cultural wave.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE opens tonight at Titusville Playhouse where it runs through June 5. This is a sweet, fun musical where a dismal apartment of a lonely man blossoms into a lavish setting filled with exciting characters. It won five Tony Awards…and won my heart. The main character, named “The Man in the Chair,” is one of my all time faves. Tickets are $20 to $26. It performs 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays at Titusville Playhouse, 301 Julia St., Titusville. Call 321-268-1125, visit TitusvillePlayhouse.com, or click onto their ad.

IN THE HEIGHTS finishes its run Sunday at Cocoa Village Playhouse. Do not miss this show. It’s written by Broadway wunderkind Lin-Manual Miranda (“Hamilton”) and has a vivid, exciting production at CVP. Read the review by clicking here. Tickets are $16 to $24. The Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse is at 300 Brevard Ave., Cocoa. Call 321-636-5050, visit CocoaVillagePlayhouse.com or click onto their ad.
