Video: MCT’s Comic Timing in ‘Fox on Fairway’

Jessica Foix in rehearsal for ‘The Fox on the Fairway”

It’s been said that when it comes to comedy, timing is everything.

That theatrical truism rang loud and clear at a recent rehearsal for “The Fox on the Fairway,” the comedy opening Friday, Aug. 7, at Melbourne Civic Theatre.

Indeed. Director Peg Girard took about 20 minutes to tighten up a 30 second stage bit in which actor Terrence Girard’s character gets 86’ed by Rachel Greshes’ character. Ms. Girard took delight in demonstrating to Ms. Gresches exactly how to deliver a knuckle sandwich to her husband, Terrence. That was, of course, all in character and all for this madcap show by farce meister Ken Ludwig.

Here’s a video of a little bit of the goings-on.
