PARTY for the PLAYHOUSE

By PAM HARBAUGH

Hope you have your tickets already. The whole community is gathering for Surfside’s third annual PARTY FOR THE PLAYHOUSE fundraiser. As with any cultural organization, fundraisers are crucial. And this 60 year old community theater is certainly deserving of community support.

While tickets are nearly sold out, you may still be able to pick up one or two (?). And if you heave a heart full of love for Brevard’s only beachside theater, then you can always become a sponsor for the event.

Party for the Playhouse includes a full dinner, music, a DJ, entertainment and more. Star performers will do a few numbers from the Playhouse’s next big show, “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.” (BTW, that show comes on the heels of Surfside’s very popular production of something quite the opposite — “The Crucible.”)

While the cost of the ticket includes all those goodies, organizer and board member Linda Hagen hopes the event willraise some real money for the Playhouse through a silent auction which includes goodies such as tickets to attractions, jewelry, resort packages, art and even wine tasting events.

Party for the Playhouse begins 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Cocoa Beach Hilton, 1550 N. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach. Seating limited to 150 people. Tickets are $50 each. Call 321-783-3127.
