AMERICAN BRASS QUINTET performs Tuesday

Again, you have the opportunity to hear a world-renowned chamber group at ridiculously low ticket prices and in an unbelievably intimate setting when the Melbourne Chamber Music Society brings the AMERICAN BRASS QUINTET to the area for a performance 7:30 Tuesday (March 6) in Indialantic.

And, you get to hear the debut of a new work.

The evening’s program includes Dan Coleman’s “Daybreak,” the new piece commissioned by the Melbourne Chamber Music Society to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Also on the program will be consort music of Elizabethan and Jacobean England, a suite from 19th Century Russia, “Common Heroes, Uncommon Land” by Phillip Lasser, canons of the 16th century and “Frost Fire” by Eric Ewazen.

One of the premier chamber music ensembles of our time, the American Brass Quintet has been in residence at the famed The Juilliard School since 1987 and at the prestigious Aspen Music Festival since 1970.

It has performed throughout the world. It has nearly 60 recordings with more than 150 premieres of contemporary compositions.
