GIRLS BE BITCHIN’

GOOD LUCK AUDREY

By PAM HARBAUGH

Well finally! It’s all about the ladies it seems. The women are pulling in the audiences on Broadway, television and even the movies.

And now, Melbourne’s Alt Rock/Punk/Indie band GOOD LUCK AUDREY has grabbed first place in WFIT’s inaugural Garage Band Contest. You can hear them perform noon Friday (April 7) on WFIT 89.5 FM program “Soundwaves.”

And in the meantime, here’s a sample:

Yeah! They’re good, aren’t they?

Here’s some quick info on the members of this award winning band, courtesy Florida Tech marketing machine:

LANDIN KREWE, 22, has been playing and writing music for nearly 10 years.
SAFIYA ELLEN, 18, has been drumming for more than 9 years and also plays guitar, piano and sings.
KAT OLDENBURG, 17, has a musically diverse background and is a leader in her local youth group.
JORDAN GREAVES, 14, has classical training and, at the age of 10, performed the National Anthem for the Orlando Solar Bears and Washington Nationals.

“Our inaugural contest was a success because it provided a new avenue to explore and highlight the vast array of talent in our community,” said WFIT General Manager Terri Wright.

Although there’s still plenty of room for ladies to run, it’s just so exhilarating to see this. Woo freakin’ hoo, y’all.
