Jump on your broomstick and Get Out this weekend. Put yourself into the Halloween-y mood with a few goodies the cultural community has for you — stories about Dracula, witches, Dr. Frank-N-Furter. For the little ones, there’s also the “Symphonic Spooktacular” happening at Sunday’s CULTURAL ARTS SHOWCASE…do not miss that one.

Theater:

Based on the 1987 movie starring Cher and Jack Nicholson, the stage musical concerns three witches living in a New England hamlet and the sexy man they seek to control. ROCKY HORROR SHOW Live on Stage closes Sunday at Titusville Playhouse. This a live show, not the shadow cast in front of the movie, so don’t expect to throw stuff at the actors, puleeze. MAURITIUS runs through Nov. 6 at Melbourne Civic Theatre. As directed by Peg Girard and performed by her top notch cast, is a smart production of a wily play filled with intrigue and angst. It concerns a woman wanting to sell a stamp she believes to be priceless, her greedy sister and a cunning philatelist. CULTURAL ARTS SHOWCASE is an annual event organized by the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, which also teams up with the King Center to present the event. It is a day where residents can discover all the offerings that local arts groups serve up. It is an extremely happy to-do, very family friendly and filled with color and excitement. You’ll see little shows, see pop-up performances, learn about everything from concerts and theater to museums and dance, trick or treat, see some cosplay, and let the kiddies explore an “instrument petting zoo.” There are also arts activities and demonstrations. And, it’s free. It’s also the day when the Brevard Symphony Orchestra performs its FREE FAMILY CONCERT — the Symphonic Spooktacular. Come dressed in Halloween costumes. Really. This is a great event. HOWL AT THE MOON runs this weekend at Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach. It features Ken Gustafson and Randy Keith on dueling pianos. This fun-packed music-filled evening has shows at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The shows invite guests to come enjoy a picnic style dinner while listening to some great music, free.
