ART GALLERY of VIERA Celebrates

This is a detail of a surfing photograph by Nate Adams.

The Art Gallery of Viera (AGOV) celebrates its seventh anniversary this month by doing what it’s always done — exhibiting beautiful art and helping the community.

During the month of May, the AGOV will hold a food drive to benefit local food pantries. Those pantries are always in dire need during the summer months, so the next time you head to The Avenue, remember to pack up some items to drop off at the gallery.

And, May’s featured artist is surfing photographer Nathan Adams, the People’s Choice Winner from the gallery’s Tropical Daze exhibition last year. Mr. Adams is from Satellite Beach, home to many surfing enthusiasts. After serving in the U.S. Army for four years and attending university, he focused his personal lens on surfing photography. He now “lives the dream” as photo editor for Eastern Surf Magazine based in Melbourne Beach.

As he states in the AGOV press release, as a surfing photographer he seeks to “…capture these amazing moments (and) bring that same emotion to those who view my work, or so I hope!”

You can meet Mr. Adams and other AGOV artists at the exhibit’s official opening reception, scheduled for 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 14. While there, you can enter a drawing to win a piece of art by Sue Kennicott. Light refreshments will be served.

The Art Gallery of Viera is at 2261 Town Center Avenue, Suite 111, Viera, FL. Call 321-504-4343 or visit ArtGalleryOfViera.com. And remember those non-perishable food items.
