FRENCH FILM FEST at FOOSANER

By PAM HARBAUGH

Get your avant-garde on with Florida Tech’s Fourth Annual FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL. It opens today and runs through April 16 at the Foosaner Art Museum.

And wow, does this look better than ever.

Opening night begins 5:30 p.m. tonight in the “April in Paris” celebration throughout EGAD Square. That’s the little park with a band shell in the heart of the Eau Gallie Arts District. The excitement starts at 5:30, with the monthly EGAD First Friday Art Walk. Not only do you get to stroll delightful Highland Avenue with all its artsy spots, you can also amble by the Foosaner to listen to some amazing jazz:

It’s the New York City-based Daniel Bennett Group, voted as the “Best New Jazz Group” in New York City Hot House Magazine and called “hypnotic” by Timeout New York. They will perform 5:30 to 7:30 tonight in the Harris Auditorium at the Foosaner Art Museum. Admission is free.

There will be games of petanque in the park, a Parisian style farmer’s market and a one-night-only pop up French street side cafe with crepes, macarons, coffee, wine and craft beer.
