Here’s something I think you may enjoy: Zack Roundy, an actor living in West Melbourne, makes his television debut in the new PBS series “Mercy Street.” You can see him as “Hiram Davis” in this season’s final episode. (Sorry, no pic of him in that episode.)

The series airs 10 p.m. Sundays with repeats 10 p.m. Thursdays on WUCF BrightHouse channel 5.

“Mercy Street” is an original six-episode series set in Virginia in the spring of 1862. It revolves around two nurses on opposite sides of the Civil War who volunteer their services at a hospital in Alexandria, which was a melting pot border town between the North and South. As the press release states: “…the confines of a small occupied town creates a rich world that is chaotic, conflicted, corrupt, dynamic and even hopeful — a cauldron within which these characters strive, fight, love, laugh, betray, sacrifice and, at times, act like villains.”

Mr. Roundy has been seen locally in “Biloxi Blues” at Surfside Playhouse, in a play reading of “Black Tie” at Melbourne Civic Theatre and in “Seminar” at the Henegar Center. He’ll be seen in the upcoming studio theater production of “Venus in Fur” at the Henegar. (Disclaimer here, I am privileged to have directed him in “Seminar” and to be directing him in “Venus in Fur.”)

He’s a very talented actor and we all wish nothing but the very best for him in his career.

BTW: “Venus in Fur” runs Feb. 12 to 28. “Venus in Fur” has adult subject matter with language, strong sexual content and brief partial nudity. Stay on the lookout for more information about this production by following the Henegar Center either on Facebook or online at Henegar.org.
