“THE UNDERPANTS, a new production opens tonight at Melbourne Civic Theatre. It’s “The Underpants,” a comedy adapted by Steve Martin from Carl Sternheim’s 1911 play “Die Hose.” No, that does not translate into a command for some garden equipment to kick the bucket. It’s German for “the trousers” or “the pants.” It’s a farce set in 1910 German household and kickstarts when a lady’s bloomers fall down. It runs through Feb. 28 at Melbourne Civic Theatre, 817 E. Strawbridge Ave., Melbourne. Tickets are $25 general admission and $23 for seniors, students and military. The storyline concerns gamblers and do-gooders and is filled with fun music. Surfside Playhouse is at 301 Ramp Road, Cocoa Beach. Tickets are $22 general, $20 senior and military and $17 student.
