AUDITIONS December 2015

By PAM HARBAUGH

THE HENEGAR will hold preliminary auditions December 13 and 14 for three shows.

“Nice Work If You Can Get It” which runs March 4 to 20.
“Big Fish,” which runs May 6 to 22.

Auditions for the two musicals will be held at the same time, 7 p.m. Dec. 13 and 14 with callbacks 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Those auditioning need to bring a headshot and resume; prepare 32 bars from a musical theater song that showcases vocal range — songs should be no longer than 60 seconds and NOT be from either of the shows. Dance auditions will also be held. Bring tap shoes if you have them.

Those auditioning for “Big Fish” may prepare a 30 to 45 second routine showing off any acrobatic, juggling or magic skills. For more information, email director Hank Rion at hank@henegar.org. You can also check out the Henegar’s audition page for character information by clicking here. The Henegar is at 625 E. New Haven Ave., Melbourne.

“Venus in Fur” auditions will be held 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec., 15 and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16 in the Henegar’s Upstairs studio theater.

Needed are one man late 20s to late 30s and one woman, late 20s early 30s, for the two-person psycho-sexual thriller. Both actors need to affect an elegant stage voice shifting from American accent to a soft Germanic/European accent; however, an upper class English accent may do.

The show runs Feb. 12 to 28, 2016, in the Henegar Center’s Upstairs Theatre, and will be directed by yours truly.

If you have any questions, please email Hank Rion, Artistic Director at hank@henegar.org.
