Deadline Approaches for Chamber Music savings

Amphion String Quartet

By PAM HARBAUGH

The very best cultural value in Brevard County is membership to the Melbourne Chamber Music Society. You have until June 30 to save nearly 10 percent off subscription prices.

The group presents fantastic chamber music concerts throughout the season, bringing in huge names to perform at a fraction of the cost you’d pay in big city venues…and, much closer as well.

Plus, there’s free punch and cookies at intermission. Who can ask for more. Here’s the schedule for 2015/2016 concert season:

The New York Chamber Soloists, Friday, Oct. 23, 2015
The Amphion String Quartet, Friday, Nov. 13,
The Henschel String Quartet, Friday, Jan. 15,
The Brentano String Quartet & Thomas Sauer, Pianist, Friday, Feb. 19, 2016
Hye-Jin Kim, Violin & Leva Jokubaviciute, Piano, Friday, Mar. 11, 2016
The Hermitage Piano Trio, Friday, April 1, 2016

Works to be performed include the original chamber music version of Aaron Copland’s “Appalachian Spring,” a Mozart Piano Concerto, the seldom heard Elgar Piano Quintet, and trios and quartets by Beethoven, Shostakovich, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and other major composers.

Concerts are held in the acoustically sweet sanctuary at St. Marks United Methodist Church in Indialantic, FL.

This wonderful organization works diligently to keep prices oh-so-affordable. Season subscription costs are $120 for the entire season, and $110 if you purchase by June 30.

Individual tickets are $35 adults and $10 for student single ticket. Individual tickets for the NY Chamber Soloists are $40.
