Brevard Community Chorus annual Holiday Concert

Put this right up on your to-do list for Saturday. It’s the eagerly anticipated Holiday Concert performed by the venerable Brevard Community Chorus, members of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra and celebrated vocal soloists

It is led by one of the area’s best leaders in the serious music scene is Dr. Robert Lamb, chair of the department for performing and visual arts and director of choral activities for Eastern Florida State College.

This year the concert features a performance of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Christmas cantata “Hodie” (pronounced ho-dee-ay) by the 100-member chorus and about 40 professional musicians. They will be joined by three soloists — soprano Jacqueline Blanc, tenor Kyle Jones and tenor and baritone Kyle Knappenberger.

The concert begins 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the King Center for the Performing Arts, 3865 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne. Tickets are $20 general, $15 military and seniors (60 years and older) and $5 for students. Service fees apply. Call 321-242-2219 or visit www.KingCenter.com.
